Welcome to QCplugins!
We like Apple's Quartz Composer. You probably do too. However, it's missing some things. We want to fill the gap.

Install our custom plugins to extend Quartz Composer's functionality. Want to play a sound? You can. Want to control iTunes? Of course.

Need a patch that does not exist? Let us know at . If you like our patches and want to see more, support us with a donation.

Update: since we have been getting many requests for improvements that we cannot do ourselves, we have decided to open source the qcplugins project.  Download the source code at http://www.sf.net/projects/qcplugins. Volunteer as a developer to help broaden the types of plugins we support.

Step 1: Download and install plugins

qcplugins.dmg  (works for 10.4.0-10.4.8)

Step 2: Download the Sample Compositions

iTunes.qtz

This composition illustrates how to control iTunes from within Quartz Composer.

sound.qtz

This composition illustrates how to play sound files (local or streaming) within Quartz Composer.

podcast.qtz

This composition illustrates how to play podcasts within Quartz Composer.

Step 3: Send us your work!

We are building a gallery of compositions featuring QCplugins. Write an email with your
name or handle, short description, whether we should publish your email address, and,
of course, the Quartz Composition file.

You can reach us at  .  qcplugins was originally developed by Rafael "Tico" Ballagas and David Holman on the side as they were working together at the Media Computing Group at RWTH Aachen Germany.
